Canvas Supports Employee Mental Health

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, the OneCanvas DEI Council hosted a powerful and deeply personal Mental Health Awareness Panel, bringing together employees across offices to engage in open, honest dialogue around mental well-being.

Led by Canvas Head of Performance Sarah Potemkin with support from DEI Council Co-Chair Brandon Shephard, the panel featured personal stories, practical tools, and meaningful insights from Canvas employees who generously shared their experiences navigating mental health within a workplace setting and outside the office as well. The conversation underscored the importance of empathy, peer support, and creating space for vulnerability in the workplace.

As Canvas Worldwide's DEI Council Co-Chair Joshua Pitones wrote on LinkedIn:

“May marks Mental Health Awareness Month, a crucial time to spotlight the importance of mental well-being and destigmatize mental health conversations... [This panel] reflected our commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where employees feel comfortable discussing their mental health journeys and accessing the resources they need.”

Canvas is also launching a Mental Health Employee Resource Group (ERG) — a new internal group dedicated to supporting employee wellness, or those living with mental health conditions, or supporting others living with mental health struggles. The ERG will serve as a safe, inclusive space to connect, share, and grow together!
